A small team with a specific focus
Warm Corner started in 2024 as a direct response to something we kept noticing: creative professionals — illustrators, photographers, copywriters, designers — were being told AI would replace them, but nobody was showing them how to actually work alongside it. The gap between hype and practical knowledge was wide, and we wanted to close it.
Our masterclasses are built around demonstration, not theory. Each session follows a real project from start to finish — you see the tool choices, the missteps, the adjustments. We cover tools like Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, Runway, and ElevenLabs in context, not as isolated features but as part of a working creative process.
The format is deliberately local. We keep groups small so that questions get answered properly, not buried in a chat feed. Participants in Nanaimo and the surrounding area can attend in person; remote access is available for those further out. Either way, the pace stays manageable and the material stays specific.
Most people approach AI tools by experimenting randomly. We give you a repeatable process that fits inside your existing creative workflow — fewer dead ends, clearer decisions.
The people behind the sessions
Dagmara Kowalczyk
Lead Instructor — AI & Generative Design
Dagmara spent eight years as a commercial illustrator before shifting her practice toward generative tools. She teaches from a working professional's perspective — what actually saves time, what creates more problems than it solves, and how to keep your visual voice intact when machines are involved.
Tarquin Osei
Curriculum Designer
Tarquin structures the sessions so that each step builds on the last without leaving gaps. He comes from instructional design and has a habit of asking "what does someone actually need to know first?" before anything else gets written into the curriculum.
